Rocking Your Buyer’s Agent Interview: Leave an Impression
The interview process is where the buyers and the agent learn a lot about each other. With any type of interview, the process begins from the moment you make eye contact. As an agent, failing to impress a client during any part of the interview can have them looking at their watch and wondering who they will be meeting with next.
The interview is your time to shine. You can impress a client and have them canceling the rest of their interviews with these tips:
Be Confident
It can be easy to recognize whether someone is confident or not. It is in how they introduce themselves, their body language, and how they answer questions. It can be very difficult to trust someone is does not seem they are confident in themselves or their ability. Express confidence in everything that you say and do. From a firm handshake to answering questions, your confidence should be noticeable.
Be Prepared
Do your homework. Clients love information and statistics. You want the prospective client to have a lot of questions. It could make your job much more difficult if they don’t. To make an impression, prepare for questions they don’t even know they need to ask. Present them with tangible information to help them make their decision.
Be Thorough
Would you feel comfortable if your doctor wasn’t thorough in their questions or examinations? You would probably want to get a second opinion (or would be smart to at least). Who would want to work with a real estate agent who wasn’t thorough? The prospect is not the only one that needs to be asking questions. Asking the right questions and bringing as much information to the surface as possible can help built a trusting relationship.
Present Your Strategy
People feel more comfortable when they know there is a plan in place. Especially for those who know little about the real estate market, when they know there is a strategy in place they will believe that you can actually help them.. Presenting your strategy during the buyers interview will them understand what you will be doing to help them buy their home.
Have References Available
You should never really brag on yourself, but there is no harm if others are doing it. In fact, this is a resource that consumers seriously consider. If others are speaking highly of you and they can see your recent success, they will definitely be most likely to hire you are their buyers agent. If others have succeeded when working with you, why can’t they? If others in the industry trust you, it says something about your character and how you do business.
Don’t let a prospect leave the interview without being impressed. Have them end their search with you and rock your interview with these tips.
